After a fall to remember under the "Palmetto State Friday Night Lights" in 2023, 5-foot-10, 175-pound Dru Goldsmith, who recorded 972 yards on 60 catches (16.2 yards per reception) and 10 touchdowns for the rural, Lowcountry Hanahan Hawks in 2023, continues to roll hot on the recruiting trail this summer.

Following our most recent conversation with him in March, several programs have tailed the Central Michigan Chippewas in tendering an offer to the speedy, pocket-rocket wide receiver, including Howard, Maine, Gardner-Webb, and most recently, "the" Jacksonville State University Gamecocks, an underrated Conference USA program who nearly knocked off instate SEC South Carolina in a battle of Gamecocks at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia last season.

"Other than being excited, I respected the program because (tight ends' and wide receivers' coach Michael Nyswander) was able to make a decision based off my film, height, weight, and potential. I’ve learned that a lot of college coaches are looking for a certain prototype, then there’s other coaches that can recognize a gem upfront. Jacksonville State is one of those programs," he told co-owner Lee Wardlaw in an exclusive.
