Jackson Repp is a 5-foot-8, 160-pound wide receiver of Christ Church School in Greenville, SC who tendered his first Southeastern Conference offer from South Carolina on July 31.
The player posted superb numbers in the Palmetto State in 2023, totaling 63 receptions for 1,510 yards and 27 touchdowns. Also starring as a running back and kick returner, Repp recorded 2,393 all-purpose yards and 32 total touchdowns. He earned Region Player of the Year accolades and helped lead his team to their second straight state championship.
Repp talked all things about his Carolina offer in an exclusive with a Palmetto Preps. Here is all that Repp had to say about Gamecocks:
“(The offer) was a surreal moment for me, and I’m just so thankful for the opportunity. Growing up in South Carolina, I’ve always watched the Gamecocks. And now, it’s just insane to think that I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to (go to Carolina) if I choose,” Repp said.
He received a text from Shane Beamer in the morning. The Gamecocks’ head coach wanted to talk about ball. “He said to call him when I had a couple of minutes to talk,” he said.
Repp quickly got in touch with the Gamecocks' head coach.
When Beamer picked up the phone, he told him he was impressed with his performance at the Carolina 7-on-7 tournament on June 22 and camp on July 26. “He said I was an elite competitor and route runner, and he said that I have elite speed,” Repp said.
Repp's good route running and incredible speed were on full display during the camp. He created space between himself and his defenders, made several impressive catches, and clocked in with a blazing-fast 4.25-4.3 second 40-yard dash time.
Beamer likes what he sees in the underdog Palmetto wide receiver, and Repp returned the favor to the Gamecocks’ head coach. “He is a great coach, and a great person. I could see myself playing for in the future,” he said.
Repp has also had the opportunity to build a relationship with Gamecocks wide receivers’ coach Mike Furrey throughout his recruitment. “Furrey is an awesome person and coach,” he said.
Repp played alongside Furrey’s son Stone during the 7-on-7. It turned out to be family that helped Repp begin building his bond with his potential future position coach.
He is excited about the prospect to potentially play for the former NFL star who knows a thing or two about developing players at the position. “I love the way he coaches, and I’m not sure there is another coach in the country I would rather be developed by,” Repp said.
“I have full faith that if I do decide to choose USC, that Coach Furrey will put me in the best position to succeed,” he said.
Repp didn’t hear of his first offer until this winter as he was beginning to making preparations for his big-ticket, senior season finale under the “Friday Night Lights of the Palmetto State" at Christ Church, a historically-dominant 1A program who will move to the 3A this season.
Elon tendered Repp his first opportunity on Feb. 22. The Phoenix were followed by Furman, Wofford, Princeton, Boston College, Dartmouth, Air Force, Charleston Southern, Georgia State, Mercer, Richmond, Lafayette, Fordham, Buffalo, and USC.
The Carolina offer is a big-ticket development in the recruitment of the underheralded instate player who is dangerous out of the slot, possesses rare speed, and runs all varieties of routes with crisp, smooth cuts.
Repp has been active on the recruiting trail this summer, hitting camps at Clemson (June 5), Boston College (June 9), Georgia (June 11), Virginia (June 18), and South Carolina (July 26).
