Matthews is one of the top prospects in the Palmetto State's class of 2007. As a
junior, the 6-foot-5, 235-pound Matthews racked up 66 tackles, seven sacks, four fumble
recoveries and two interceptions on defense, and grabbed 17 balls for 210 yards and four
touchdowns on offense.
Matthews, who has been clocked at 4.8 in the 40, now has four offers on the table.
"I've gotten another offer, this one from the University of North Carolina,"
Matthews told SCVarsity.com Tuesday. "I had already been offered by USC, Tennessee
and Clemson," Matthews said.
Matthews plans to attend junior days at USC, Clemson, and Georgia.
The three things that he's looking for in a school are "Academics, athletics, and
the social life," he said.
