South Carolina soccer state titles captured over weekend

The South Carolina High School League soccer state finals took place over the weekend, with many teams capturing glory en route to a trophy.

On the girls' side, JL Mann was able to knock off Lexington in the 5A division by a score of 3-2. Hilton Head beat Eastside 2-1 to win the 4A title. The 3A championship was won by Bishop England, 3-0 over Indian Land, while Academic Magnet defeated Southside Christian on the 2A side with a 2-1 final.

Wando continued its run of dominance in 5A by beating Nation Ford 2-1 to win its second state title in a row. In 4A, Chapin knocked off Eastside by a 1-0 score to win the championship. Berea defeated Bishop England, 4-3, on the 3A side, and the 2A title was won by Academic Magnet over St. Joseph's Catholic in a penalty shootout. Governor's School defeated Charleston Math & Science 5-0 in a convincing capturing of the 1A title.
