Class of 2008 by linebacker Allen Smith, who received his first written
offer this weekend during an unofficial visit to the Sunshine state.
Smith, a 6-1, 225lbs defensive end/linebacker got a verbal offer from the University of
Central Florida three weeks ago, but during an unofficial visit this past weekend, UCF
made it official by sending the Raider star home with a written offer.
"I was excited," said Smith. "It was a good visit to...I loved it down
there. I loved the campus; loved the atmosphere; everthing about the visit."
Smith collected 65 tackles this past season, including 10 sacks and 12 tackles for loss
for a struggling Keenan program. But he's worked hard on his own personal game in the off
season to try to help the Raiders next season.
"I've been lifting really hard and eating a good diet," said Smith, who has
put on fifteen pounds in the off season. He played at 208 to 210 in 2006, but is up to 225
now.
He's very athletic, strong in pursuit, and runs a 4.71 40.
He is being recruited by UCF assistant coach David Kelly, a former Union High School
and Furman University football player.
Smith will be attending the 2007 SCVarsity.com All-State Football Combine at
Brookland-Cayce High School. For more information on that event, click the below link.
