Columbia (SC) Keenan High School linebacker Allen Smith was featured first on
SCVarsity.com last Spring as an "under the radar" player for the state. After an

outstanding senior season, he received several offers and has finally given his commitment
to play college in state.
Smith committed to Wofford on Tuesday night. The 6-1 1/2, 231lbs athlete told us he
knew Wofford was the place for him when he visited them back on January 4th.
"I loved it up there," said Smith. "The atmosphere was great, they have
a good football program, and the academic side of it was a big factor, too."
Smith, who has a 4.2 GPA, plans to study Business Economics.
This past season, he collected 91 tackles, 10 sacks, and blocked eight kicks and punts.
He was an all-region, all-area, and all-state selection and played in the North-South
game. He says they plan on putting him down at defensive end for the Terriors, but may get
the opportunity to play linebacker, as well.
Smith also had offers from Central Florida, Howard, Marshall, SC State, Citadel,
Furman, and Gardner Webb.
