Swansea LB Pulls In SEC Offer

Swansea (SC) Swansea High School enjoyed success in years past on the gridiron, but has
hardly been fertile ground for DIA football prospects in recent years. The Class of 2008

will change that, however, as Tiger linebacker Taylor Wyndham has emerged as an
SCVarsity.com Top Ten player and capturing the eyes of some major DIA program recruiters,
and has two offers on the table with his latest from the SEC.
Wyndham attended the Kentucky/LSU game this past weekend and left with an official
offer from the Wildcats.
"He was very excited about the offer," said Melanie Wyndham, Taylor's mom,
"but he hasn't committed."
Kentucky is Wyndham's second offer, with Marshall being the first school to offer the
6-4, 210lbs linebacker.
Wyndhamd attended the SCVarsity.com All-State Football Combine this past Spring, where
he put up some amazing numbers. He turned in a 4.61 40 yard dash, a 4.19 pro-agility
shuttle, and a 36 inch vertical jump. He also looked very good in the one-on-one drills,
where he went up against some of the best running backs in the state.
Not only does the big bodied linebacker have the athleticism, he's got the football
skills as well. As a junior at inside linebacker for the Tigers, he collected 130 tackles,
forced 3 fumbles, recovered 3 fumbles, had 3 sacks, and 1 interception. He's a high
energy, high impact player and plays very aggressive. He comes in at pad level or lower
and when he lowers the boom, he tries to go through the ball carrier.
"I kind of compare myself to Brian Urlacher when I was playing inside," said
Wyndham. "He comes in real low and delivers big hits and that's what I try to do. I
love to hit."
Shrine Bowl coaches, take note....this is one of the top two linebackers in the state
of South Carolina.
