HOOPS: State championships set for weekend

BOYS OUTLOOK
5A
Irmo beat the buzzer to nip Blythewood, 49-48, in the Lower State finals. The Yellow Jackets will take on Dorman, who beat Wade Hampton in the Upper State finals by a score of 44-36.
4A
On the Lower State side, Wilson narrowly beat AC Flora, 42-40, advancing to play Ridge View. The Blazers took care of South Aiken 60-47.
3A
Southside and Ridgeland-Hardeeville are set to clash for the right to the state title; Southside beat Walhalla 54-46 and Ridgeland-Hardeeville knocked off Wade Hampton 51-46.
2A
Gray Collegiate advanced by defeating Keenan 49-46 and will take on Carvers Bay, 69-51 winners over Marion on the Lower State side.
1A
Ridge Spring-Monetta (60-58 over Lewisville) will play Hemingway, who defeated CE Murray 59-48, for the state championship.
GIRLS OUTLOOK
5A
Wade Hampton will play Spring Valley for the title; WH beat Woodmont 50-47 in the Upper State final while Spring Valley beat Goose Creek 55-53.
4A
Wilson advanced to the state final by beating Myrtle Beach 42-33 and will face North Augusta, who beat Westwood 58-32.
3A
Newberry (67-58 over Seneca) will play Ridgeland-Hardeeville (46-40 over Swansea) for the state championship.
2A
Keenan defeated Christ Church Episcopal 55-47 and will meet Mullins, who beat Marion 54-43.
1A
East Clarendon knocked off Scotts Branch 60-47 and will play Timmonsville (39-30 over McCormick) for the state championship.
