was introduced to South Carolina two weeks ago on SCVarsity.com as a promising young
player with a huge upside potential. King travelled to Athens this past weekend for the
Nike Camp at UGA and it seems that he turned some heads with his showing at the camp.
"Coach Jennings (Raymond) told me today that several schools called and asked
about me. They are supposed to be coming to spring practice to check us out."
According to Jennings, South Carolina, Marshall, Notre Dame, and Gardner Webb called to
get the Spring practice schedule so they can visit and take a look at King, along with the
other talent that the Blazers boast.
At 6-6 1/2 and 183lbs, King has the frame that quarterbacks and offensive coordinators
drool over in a receiver. He's long, lean, and athletic and gives the Blazers' quarterback
a nice target to throw to.
"I really wasn't strong as a receiver when I was here as a sophomore," said
King. "But I've worked hard on my hands and running my routes and I think people will
see a different player in 2006."
Look for the Blazers to put in an offense this year that will reap the benefits of
having receivers like King and teammate Jeremy Cole to throw to.
