Columbia (SC) Ridge View wide receiver
href="http://scvarsity.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=52329">Brandon King,
who was introduced to South Carolina two weeks ago on SCVarsity.com travelled to Athens,
Georgia, this past weekend for the Nike Football Training Camp. After a very good showing
in testing and skills there, King is finding himself the subject of attention from
recruiters and his stock is rising.
"We've had several schools call this week about me and what they saw at Nike
Camp," said King.
According to Ridge View head coach Raymong Jennings, South Carolina, Marshall, Notre
Dame, and Gardner Webb called to get the Spring practice schedule so they can visit and
take a look at King, along with the other talent that the Blazers boast.
"Yesterday, Clemson was here watching and asked my coach to have me fill out a
questionairre," said King. "And today, I got an invitation to USC's one-day camp
this summer."
At 6-6 1/2 and 183lbs, King has the frame that quarterbacks and offensive coordinators
drool over in a receiver. He's long, lean, and athletic and gives the Blazers' quarterback
a nice target to throw to.
King has already cracked the SCVarsity.com Top Twenty players list, and his stock will
certainly continue to climb as we go through Spring Practice and head towards the 2006
football season.
Stay tuned to SCVarsity.com as we follow one of our top rated wide
receivers through his recruiting process and his senior football season.
