Anderson (South Carolina) T.L. Hanna quarterback Alex Meredith has consistently been one of the state's most productive high school football players since taking over the helm of the position early in his career.

In this feature, PalmettoPreps.com takes a closer look at Meredith's game and his potential at the next level. We spoke with Meredith's private quarterbacks coach, Ramon Robinson, and offer our own scouting report below his film.

COACH'S CORNER: ""He's a student of the game. He's hard nosed and hard working, a natural born leader. He's one that can adjust to different systems. He's always played in a spread from middle school on, and most quarterbacks cannot go from a spread offense to a wing-T, and be willing to do so. He can throw it and he can run it. He showed he can be productive in a run-based offense and be able to take the pounding. He's very durable.

One of his knocks has been just because he's not the typical 6-1, 6-2 quarterbacks, but I can tell you he plays as big as any of them. The bigger the stage, the bigger the performance with him. One of the things I've seen from his is his growth at the position mentally and physically. As far as things he'll have to improve on at the next level, just get stronger and learn the playbook. That's for any quarterback." - Ramon Robinson, Elite Position Training

PALMETTOPREPS.COM EVALUATION: "Meredith has long been a favorite of ours, dating back to when a few folks in Anderson told us about him and how he helped turn around T.L. Hanna with his play on the field. The comparisons at that time were to former Gamecock standout Connor Shaw, who was a shorter but ultra-productive dual-threat player.

Meredith is a very good athlete as evidenced by his ability to play both ways at the high school level. It also illustrates his toughness that he's willing and able to do so, and he is capable of throwing the ball and running it out of a variety of looks or different type offenses.

Also a baseball player, Meredith is only going to continue fine-tuning his game once he's fully focused on football and in a collegiate strength training program at the next level. Mentality is so important at a quarterback position when physical tools are sometimes overemphasized. Meredith has the complete package of things that college coaches look for when you combine the arm, the running ability, and the leadership and knowledge of the game. He's going to be an outstanding get for someone, will make any locker room better, and help a team win games on the field.
